Alexis is proudly a Registered Veterinary TechnicIan (RVT), Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) & Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP)
Since she was a little girl, Alexis has aspired and worked towards living a life where every day she get to do the very thing she loves to do: improve the lives of animals, and strengthen the human-animal bond through responsible pet ownership practices. Through her certifications, Alexis has gained a deep understanding of the humane, responsible and effective practices of animal behaviour, training, and pet care, benefiting both the animals and their human companions.
Alexis has 10+ years experience working with animal species of all kinds, and she cannot wait to meet you and your furry family members!
Penny
Chief Canine Officer
Penny is a loveable, 9 year old black Labrador Retriever mix, who Alexis has been fortunate to have been taking care of since she was a puppy from a rescue situation. Penny is a bright, athletic girl, who enjoys adventuring on hikes, trick training, camping trips, and has learned to come alongside her mom on her rollerblade treks too!
She is the queen of napping (on your pillow is her favourite spot), and as our official Snack Taste Tester, she will eat almost any type of food that she is allowed to, including many fruits and vegetables! She will also try and eat anything she is not allowed to, in very Labrador fashion! (Although we try not to stereotype around here!)
Penny is an integral part of our team both in an emotional support role, and as a buddy for our pack members to socialize and interact with. She looks forward to meeting you soon!
Pongo
Pack Assistant
Pongo is a goofy, 7 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Red Heeler mix, who Alexis adopted during her time in school as she became a veterinary technician.
Pongo loves to show off his best zoomies and play fetch with his Jolly Ball. He is passionate about working for treats/food, toys and likes learning new tricks. We have recently started agility together too!
He is truly a “velcro-dog,” and is never too far away from your side when around the house. He will gladly be your little spoon on the couch, earning him the title of Professional Cuddler.
Pongo has come a long way and we have worked very hard together to tackle his herding-dog tendencies and reactivity. We are so proud of him and are so glad he is a part of our Pack!
